The Forest has a secret…

If you know me well, I always come up with cockamamie ideas for myself and others (I actually fully play these out in my head after the thought has blurted out of my mouth!). Just last week I was having coffee with my friend and we decided that we needed a café that is also an art studio, a bookstore/library, and a space that invites people to bring their endeavours and just hang out and build a community. Imagine all those lonely souls working from home every day suddenly having somewhere to sit whilst others work alongside them, offering inspiration and company. Sometimes being at home by yourself can get lonely.

Can you picture it? Because I even know what it looks and feels like.

When I started on the journey of WildKind, I pictured patterns that had deep roots in the -well, wild of course! Lots of plants and foliage, luscious greens and plenty of flowers. Not only did it spark my joy and bring my creativity back to life, I also grew with it. I remembered that I'm not just an artist – I'm also a storyteller.

Anyway… I digress. Of course, art tells a story – but I wanted something more. Each story attached to each pattern can provide a soul for the product it's on; it creates a heartbeat. And even if the art doesn't tell the same story or give the same meaning as the one flitting through my head, it should still make your product shine with purpose.

A few weeks ago, I was absolutely OBSESSED with butterflies. At the time I wasn't sure why – they were just pretty and fun to paint. I then realised it was the next chapter in the WildKind collection: my own personal transformation. I've bloomed again, found my purpose, and stepped into my own. I hope this resonated with some of you – I hope it made you want to step out of the city and into the wild.

But I also realise this won't be everyone's path. Some people don't transform like the caterpillar. Did I ever think one of the paths I drew would feature this animal, tell this particular story? Nope. And this is where the next story begins...

Today we welcome Mushroom Meadow Mischief!

Not only have I suddenly NEEDED to eat mushrooms every morning for breakfast, I've also been playing quite a lot of Minecraft with the kid and the cousins. We've created a whole realm and everyone has been busy collecting materials and building their homes. I, of course, built mine out of mushrooms (I cheated and followed a tutorial - building things without instructions is so not my forte!) and I absolutely love it!

As I was foraging around the spruce forest looking for red mushrooms (the brown ones were everywhere and yet no red ones in sight!), I noticed an animal roaming around with me – the fox. And thus, Mushroom Meadow Mischief was born.

The Story of the Fox

Each fox in this meadow has its own personality.
Some are bolder, some more cautious; some leap first and think later, while others sit back and observe before making their move. They share the same clever spirit, but each one is shaped by its experiences - the shifting light, the whispering grass, the enchanted mushrooms glowing softly beneath their paws.

Just like people.

For your business, this means a pattern with layered meaning - not just something beautiful to look at, but something that resonates emotionally with your customers.
A story they can see themselves in, or see reflected in the ones they love.

Because Mushroom Meadow Mischief isn’t just a pattern - it’s a reminder that we grow not only through the hard moments, but also through the playful ones.
That adaptability is a strength.
That curiosity is a guide.
And that we all deserve to find small pockets of wonder, no matter the path we're on.

Did you know that foxes thrive in almost any environment they're placed in? They're adaptable, resilient, and quietly intelligent. They move with purpose, notice everything, and act only when the moment is right. But here's what makes them truly special: beneath all that instinct and survival wisdom, they carry a spark of playfulness. They remind us that growth isn’t just about pushing through or being strong - it’s also about rediscovering joy, curiosity, and the magic hidden in everyday moments.

This is the heart of Mushroom Meadow Mischief - a pattern that celebrates adaptability, creativity, and that mischievous little flicker of fun that makes a moment (or a design) unforgettable.

Why This Pattern Works Across Markets

Here's what makes Mushroom Meadow Mischief special from a business perspective: it's versatile without being generic.

The fox-and-flowers aesthetic taps into the massive cottagecore and whimsical design trends that are dominating right now. But it's sophisticated enough to work across multiple product categories - from baby essentials to adult lifestyle products - without feeling out of place in any of them.

The colour palette alone opens doors. Three carefully chosen colourways mean you're not locked into a single market segment. You can create product lines that appeal to different customer bases, build coordinate-able ranges, and give customers real choice.

Think about what this pattern could do for your business:

Baby & Children's Market — bedding, nappies, clothing, nursery accessories. The story of adaptability and playfulness resonates deeply with parents.

Adult Lifestyle — loungewear, stationery, home goods, accessories. This is where the pattern really comes alive for a whole new demographic hungry for whimsical, nature-inspired design.

Coordinated Collections — use multiple colourways to create premium tiers, seasonal drops, or mix-and-match ranges that keep customers coming back.

Marketing Gold — the story behind the pattern gives you authentic narrative to build campaigns around. People don't just buy products anymore; they buy the stories that come with them.

Three Colour ways, Three Stores

Just as each fox has its own unique personality, Mushroom Meadow Mischief lives in three distinct colour ways - each one opening different doors for your business.

From warm peach that invites comfort, to versatile cream for everyday appeal and a fresh sage green that speaks to eco-conscious consumers - there's a colour way for every market you want to reach.

Next week, I'm breaking down each colour way in detail – helping you find the one that speaks to your soul, and maybe even introducing you to some unexpected ways this pattern could brighten your world. 🌿🦊🍄

Because the real magic isn't just in the pattern itself. It's in knowing how to use it. 🌿🦊🍄
