About Me

Hey there! I’m Maja, the artist and surface pattern designer behind Born at Night Creations. I’m an Australian artist based in Perth, with creative roots that go all the way back to my childhood in Canberra. I’ve always been an imaginative soul, never without my self-made “adventure pack” filled with a notebook, pencils, and trusty connector pens. I’d draw anywhere and everywhere, always chasing inspiration, even as a kid.

These days, not much has changed. I still follow curiosity and emotion wherever it leads me. Personal stories, small observations, and the beauty in everyday life often inspire my designs. I believe in creating slowly and with intention, in the hope that my art fosters connection — whether it’s through a pattern that makes someone smile or a design that becomes part of something meaningful in someone’s home or brand.

To me, surface pattern design is like the soul of a product’s look. It’s the spark that makes someone pause and think, “Ooh, I love this.” That moment is where connection and brand loyalty begin.

With a background rooted in art and a love for patterns, I create designs that blend creativity with purpose. I work with brands, product-based businesses, and creative entrepreneurs who want to bring originality, warmth, and storytelling into their products — whether through licensing or custom design.
